"Stage Actress to Guest Star on All My Children" BuddyTV.com (Sep 24 , 2007)

Victoria Clark will be making her daytime television debut on ABC's All My Children next month. The Tony Award-winning actress will portray Sharon Borg, a party planner. She will be sharing scenes with Jeff Branson, who plays Jonathan Lavery, and Leven Rambin, who portrays Lily Montgomery.

Clark, a soprano, won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance in The Light in the Piazza. She also won a Drama Desk Award, Outer Circle Critics Award and Joseph Jefferson Award for the role. Her portfolio includes appearances on Broadway in Cabaret, Urinetown, Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Guys and Dolls.

While All My Children will be the first daytime series for Victoria Clark, the 47-year-old actress has guest-starred in several primetime television programs, including Cradle Will Rock, Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Victoria Clark's episode on the ABC soap will air on Friday, October 19.

All My Children is a 37-year-old daytime series and a recipient of multiple Emmy Awards. At present, one of the major storylines involves Kendall's (Alicia Minshew) young son, Spike, who becomes deaf following a terrible car accident. One pressing issue surrounding Spike's condition is whether or not he should receive cochlear implants, a procedure that Kendall is dubious about.

''She's a perfectionist, so she wants the perfect life for her child and she's afraid that he won't have it,'' Minshew told The Associated Press. Last Friday, Kendall's mother, Erica (Susan Lucci), took matters into her own hands and arranged to have a boy (JQ DePaiva) who had successful cochlear implants be a guest on her talk show. Kendall, feeling betrayed, tried to leave the studio but was stopped by the boy, who subsequently asked her if they could talk.

''I honestly feel like I am telling a story that makes a difference in people's lives,'' Minshew said.

All My Children airs weekdays on ABC.
